Sylvan Oak restaurant, was born because of a very strong family tradition in the restaurant business with a consuming passion for excellent food. Originally the site off Garratt Lane was once a café and then a family run Italian restaurant for many years. The restaurant has been brought up to date with a state of the art kitchen as well as many Sylvan Oak touches such as the oak flooring and rustic elm bar. Care has been taken to allow for a relaxed dining experience in this bright and airy venue. Sylvan Oak presents an evolving food culture known as 'British Fusion', where the chefs present full flavoured food with impeccable visual presentation. The restaurant's philosophy is simple – a belief in relaxed, affordable and unhurried fine food experience and and an insistence on sourcing local ingredients and drink wherever possible. Influenced secondary by the basis and style of French cuisine and their delicate flavours and techniques, the Sylvan Oak style is to take the inspiration from the traditional and marry it with the contemporary using European, Middle Eastern and Asian influences.
