The Black Boy serves fantastic food all day, every day and offers a wide and varied menu. There is something to suit all ages, from bar snacks and great pints to amazing Sunday Roasts.

Right from the start the service was great, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble considering there were a few of us. Food was beautifully cooked and everyone enjoyed their meal. Thank you.

The Black Boy is a really lovely place to eat or just to have a drink. Our food was plentiful and it was brilliant to see a full vegan menu, although I would love to see a roast option on the Sunday menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals, with just a comment from my friend that they would have liked the option of a drizzle of dressing on their side salad. Service from all staff we encountered was smiling, courteous and professional - just excellent!

Myself and 10 other work colleagues attended the Black boy for a dining reservation, just a few days ago.I had previously been on several occasions which is reason as to why I made our booking here, for a work incentive night out. Unfortunately on this occasion I was extremely disappointed with our experience. It was quite apparent they were under staffed, the service was very slow and poor, although our waitress rushed me to finish my starter as she stood next to me to clear my plate. The food wasn't up to their standard that I had experienced before, for example, 2 of our party had salmon fajitas but the salmon was overcooked and not that enjoyable. The burger bun to my chicken burger was so hard I was unable to eat it so removed it from my plate, and the chips were either Luke warm or cold for most. It took over 45 minutes after our starters to receive our mains. We decided not to wait for desert and asked for the bill. The group booking behind us had obviously complained, as they were offered complimentary drinks, and the staff were much more attentive to their needs or requests. We had to ask 3 times for a jug of water for the table, however the waitress did apologise and mentioned they had an incident in the bar which is why we were delayed. As I said, I have visited here on many other occasions and left satisfied with our visit, its just unfortunate on this visit we didn't have the same experience and service.
