The Coal Shed

The Coal Shed is a gourmet steak and seafood restaurant located in the heart of Brighton. The method is simple: the highest quality ingredients, expertly cooked. As well as a seasonal à la carte menu, there is also on offer daily specials and a great value express lunch menu. Specialities include a range of 35 day, dry aged Scottish steaks from the North Highlands in Scotland, as well as a wide selection of fish dishes including cuttlefish, oysters, sea bass, bouillabaisse and lobster. However, the menu is not prescriptive. On offer is a variety of cuts and weights of meat and fish alongside various side orders to cater for each individual, or to share as you please. Furthermore, the 'Specials' change daily and the menu adapts seasonally to ensure the best use of local, sustainable ingredients. For those special occasions, a private dining room is available. Able to cater for up to 16 people, this room is equipped with your own personal waiter and use of your own music system. Bespoke menus can be catered for your special occasion as you relax by a period fireplace. Please note, this room is not available on Friday & Saturday evenings or during Sunday lunch.
