The Dorset is located right in the heart of Lewes, close to the South Downs Way and just a stones throw from Brighton. With lots of room it is a great family pub that also boasts six beautifully appointed rooms above the pub, all en suite, available on a B&B basis. Chef/co-owner Rob Palmer and his team create delicious seasonal dishes, freshly cooked to order and beautifully presented. using local suppliers as much as possible. This includes a popular Spanish cured meat board or why not try something from the new bar tapas? On offer are great pub classics alongside à la carte dishes like sea bass fillet, grilled on a dill emulsion with carrot purée or lamb braised and topped with a herb crust. Not forgetting the home cooked kids menu. Sundays at The Dorset are a traditional affair. Roast dinner is served with all the trimmings between 12:00 - 18:00. Or until they run out!

Well, we as with others today found a discrimination policy by management, regardless of the policy the brewery states on website. So if you are a person of colour, LGBT, disabled or have an ethical dietary requirements, you will not be welcome here by the notice on their door that belongs to the 20th century country thinking. We are in the 21st century, right... this venue clearly isn't The Dorset Inn on 26th Dec broke the 2010 Equality Act - and even the manager has make his opinion on vegans very clear before this fiasco.
