Tucked away up the hill 5 minutes walk from Brighton Station, The Eddy, as it is known to regulars, is a delightful community pub. Recently re-furbished The Eddy is an unpretentious hidden gem where a smile, fabulous food and delicious drinks are guaranteed. On offer is a wonderful modern British menu from Josh Fallon, whose extensive experience includes time in the kitchen's of Heston Bluementhal, Gordon Ramsey and Tom Kerridge. The wine list offers an eclectic range of loveliness and is a real journey around the grapes and regions of the world. There is also a wide range of lesser known Malt Whiskys and an ever revolving selection of real ales. With a smorgasbord of events such as comedy, quiz and live music nights enhancing the friendly and convivial atmosphere, you've every reason to visit!

I visit bright quite regularly and lived there for 5 years, trying out many different pub roasts as there are a lot to choose from most are at the same price point but the food can differ drastically. The roasts at the Eddy has to be the best I have come across in Brighton, every element was cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth meat, crispy potatoes, and a huge Yorkshire with a delicious gravy to match. Another thing about the roast offeree is that you get a generous portion of sides greens, carrots, and cauliflower cheese when some pubs charge extra. The staff was great and very attentive asking if we need anything else and the chef came out to ask how the food was which was a nice touch and shows that he cares about the food he serves to customers. I would definitely recommend the Eddy and can't wait to come back again and maybe try the standard menu too.

Vegans and vegetarians, don't be put off by the one option on a Sunday. As a party of five that consisted of two vegans and three vegetarians, our initial thoughts on the Sunday Roast menu was that it was limited. We needn't have worried! Every minor detail was taken care of to make sure that our food was perfect. The main was perfect, the roast potatoes were spot-on, every vegetable accompaniment was served piping hot and the gravy was out of this world. As for the home-made vegan chocolate ice cream and raspberry sorbet, you'll just have to try it for yourself because I can't find the words to do it justice! The only thing to add is that as always Jes, the landlord made us all feel extremely welcome and valued and Josh, the chef could not have been more attentive throughout the meal

I’ve eaten here twice now. I had the pork the first time and the vegetarian option the second time. Just brilliant. Each element is perfectly cooked with special attention paid. The truffle cauliflower cheese is my favourite.
