The Half Moon Inn

The Half Moon in Plumpton is a beautiful two hundred year old traditional country pub nestled at the foot of the South Downs National Park, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, ten minutes from both the historic county town of Lewes and the charming village of Ditchling. A "quintessentially English pub" The Half Moon offers a menu that changes with the seasons and uses only the finest locally sourced produce. At the helm in the kitchens is award winning Chef Richard Willis, who has spent the past decade refining his skills in Sussex and brings with him an unrivalled knowledge of the best ingredients that the County can provide. The cellar is well stocked with the finest local beers from Harveys of Lewes to the local vicar's famous Rectory ales. There is also an extensive wine list of Old World and New World wines that has been chosen to compliment the menu. The Half Moon is also well equipped to cater for any wedding or event.

On our final morning we had already booked for breakfast at Cafe Rouge and we were not disappointed. We five adults and two children were given the large round table in the conservatory. The breakfast was cooked very well and the service was excellent. In fact it was the best service that we had experienced in our stay at CP having visited other restaurants. We shall certainly do a return visit Well Done Cafe Rouge and your very helpful waitress.
