The Pelham Arms is a traditional British public house situated at the top of Lewes High Street, serving local and seasonal food with a relaxed friendly service in charming surroundings. Built circa 1640, this quintessential Sussex pub has original oak beams, an inglenook fireplace, courtyard garden and is full of age-old charm. All the food is freshly prepared on the premises and The Pelham Arms is committed to using ingredients that have been ethically and responsibly produced, using only free range meats, local dairy and cheeses, free range eggs and poultry, organic grains, flours and pulses, locally caught fish and fair trade coffee and tea. The Pelham Arms take their real ale very seriously, and because of this your pint will always be top notch. The Pelham Arms are proud to be the only pub in Lewes serving fine ales from the Badger brewery. The wines have been carefully selected and include the local award winning sparkling wines from Ridgeview down the road in Ditchling and there is also an excellent range of organic juices and botanically brewed soft drinks.

My daughter and I visited on the 11/3/18 which was mothering sunday. There was a nice selction of starters and I had the chicken, chorizo and spinach terrine which was so flavoursome and served with the nicest tangy tomato chutney. Both of us had slow cooked roast pork which was served with 3 varieties of vegetables, 3 large roast potates and a huge yorkshire pudding that was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I was especially pleased there was plenty of gravy. I passed on dessert but my daughter enjoyed milk chocolate sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream which she said was fantastic. The team work really hard and Dray, Alex and David are always so friendly and charming. If you are looking for a well cooked, beautifully presented meal then look no further than the Pelham.

6 of us visited The Pelham Arms for Mothering Sunday and had a brilliant time. None of us had visited before and so didn't know what to expect, however we were thoroughly pleased with the whole experience. The staff were all friendly and accommodating and the food was great - huge portions, definitely worth the money. We will be back again soon!
