The Pelham Arms is a traditional British public house situated at the top of Lewes High Street, serving local and seasonal food with a relaxed friendly service in charming surroundings. Built circa 1640, this quintessential Sussex pub has original oak beams, an inglenook fireplace, courtyard garden and is full of age-old charm. All the food is freshly prepared on the premises and The Pelham Arms is committed to using ingredients that have been ethically and responsibly produced, using only free range meats, local dairy and cheeses, free range eggs and poultry, organic grains, flours and pulses, locally caught fish and fair trade coffee and tea. The Pelham Arms take their real ale very seriously, and because of this your pint will always be top notch. The Pelham Arms are proud to be the only pub in Lewes serving fine ales from the Badger brewery. The wines have been carefully selected and include the local award winning sparkling wines from Ridgeview down the road in Ditchling and there is also an excellent range of organic juices and botanically brewed soft drinks.

Always great for a Sunday lunch, good choice of roasts, quality cuts of meat with lots of vegetables. During the week it's hard to beat their home made burgers, love the buttermilk chicken. Great service, good drinks selection and lovely ambience.

My wife and I visit The Pelham Arms two to three times a year, and have done for the past 3 years. With independent restaurants/gastro pubs/businesses in general I feel you have to nail three things - product, service, and image. The Pelhams Arms exceed in all expectations on all three of these counts, every time. I really cannot stress just how wonderful an experience it is to dine here. It holds a very special place in the hearts of Evie (my wife) and me, as we had our wedding reception here - so we are a little biased. None-the-less, you can tell by the smiles on the faces of your fellow diners that everyone in the room feels just as special as us. Fantastic food at a reasonable price, representing good value for money, plus local ingredients, their own beer, polite and attentive staff, a lovely venue... You couldn't really ask for much more. Thanks, as always, guys (especially Alex). The Smiths

Thank you so much for the wonderful time for our staff Christmas meal. The food was delicious and the atmosphere warm and inviting. It would perhaps be nice to have coffee and mince pies included in the price.
