The venue is designed remarkably like a New York contemporary restaurant with some fantastic Americana throughout each area. Having been to Grand Central for breakfast several times before we were looking forward to our booking. However when we got there we discovered it’s changed hands and been refurbished. Sadly our food was not up to the standard we usually received when it was Grand Central. We were given 10% discount as an apology but won’t be going there again.

Wonderful food, fabulous cocktails and the staff were very attentive Friendly and prompt service Love the tables have got cards and chips on to play poker etc Great evening Thanks

the waiter was polite but completely inexperienced and seemed not have been properly trained he said he had only been on the job for one week food never before known a pasta dish to be offered but to be informed you do not stock Parmesan cheese sorry but that is not acceptable. The black burger option delivered absolutely ruined so hard by being overdone the menu does not make it clear that the Sunday option is only available on Sunday,s the waiter did not know had to ask a replacement chicken dish was ordered but took so long other guests had finished before main served. Worst cajun chicken ever, chicken over cooked, lack of cajun flavour. 3 times visited the restaurant each time food sent back sorry but enough is enough. Is it a co-incidence the restaurant was not busy.

Visited the restaurant tonight, and I'm beyond disappointed. I honestly can't remember last time I've had such shocking service! it was soo beyond slow, the last person who joined us for dinner wasn't even acknowledge when they sat down or offered a drink, then it took ages to order, half of our plates were cleared while one of us was still eating, I'm sorry that's just rude. we then sat there for about an hour after our main before we were acknowledged again, in which we were asked if we were ok? not do we want some more drinks or want to see a dessert menu. when we did ask for the dessert menu the young girl said she would return in 5 minutes for our order which she never did. there was a group of the loudest most of obnoxious people sat next to us acting like children, whistling to put there orders through or swearing so that the whole restaurant could hear, not once where they addressed on there behaviour, but apparently if you want to acknowledged or looked after in your Chelmsford branch that's how you behave. I wouldn't mind too much if the service was slow because they were busy but the whole time we were in there, they only had 3 tables full. it seemed like the staff didn't care, had no rush, no sense of awareness, and did everything they could to avoid the table! I've never had any problems in the basildon branch, hard to believe you're even the same chain.
