The thinking behind the Red's True Barbecue concept is simple and says it all: "Come forth to the Church of True Barbecue and feast upon glorious meats smoked low and slow, infused with joy. Thou shalt never go hungry again". So if you are an aficionado of barbecued meats, this place delivers on all levels. Slow-smoked American-style barbecue served in a casual environment and with a bar attached too. At the very heart of the menu, are awesome ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket as well as burgers and steaks. These are complemented by sides, desserts and a few starters. Red's True Barbecue has a tongue-in-cheek evangelical theme. Employees describe themselves as "believers" and the restaurants tagline is "Let there be meat" and every year founders James Douglas and Scott Munro make a "pilgrimage" across the southern states of America to seek culinary inspiration.
