Lovely celebration for Mum's 70th birthday. Were able to 'decorate' table as well. Despite all the snow, 14 out 18 of us managed to get there! Sunday Roasts were very tasty.

We had attentive service for a Sunday evening meal, so we were looking forward with anticipation to the breakfast next morning. Unfortunately, breakfast was a letdown. We arrived in the restaurant around 9.10am, and were asked to sit in the casual area, by the window. The table is far too low to eat breakfast, so we asked to be seated in the restaurant, with other guests. We were given tepid coffee, teped scrambled eggs, and fatty, inedible bacon! Surely chef must see all the uneaten bacon coming back to kitchen, and up his game. I had thought that I would choose the continental breakfast, but curly cheese slices and salami did not look attractive. We were NOT offered toast, and I was just about to ask for toast, when I discovered that butter and jam/marmalade were gone! The staff were not interested in serving us. Reception was different, a charming young lady. I must add hat I did not complain at the time as my husband has mild dementia, so is easily thrown by any confrontation. I look forward to your reply.
