Most famed for its pizzas, the restaurant also boasts an authentic wood-fired pizza oven which is used to create genuine Italian hand-made pizzas. The Red Lion is a member of the 'Associazone Verace Pizza Napoletana', which ensures that the ingredients they use and their cooking method conforms with the criteria of 'The Real Neapolitan Pizza'. The menu is changed twice yearly to reflect the seasons, and features newly-created dishes as well as classic favourites. The unique charcoal Josper Oven infuses a delicious chargrilled flavour to the fresh meat and fish dishes, a distinguishing element of the food menu. All the meat is of premium quality, 100% British and sourced from Aubrey Allen, who won 'Ethical Meat Supplier of the Year' three times. The pork, chicken and eggs are all free range and the beef is dry-aged on the bone for 21 days to tenderise the meat and intensify the flavour. With an open kitchen running the length of the restaurant, you can enjoy watching the dishes being prepared fresh to order.
