At the heart of The Anchor is the chef and the fresh local ingredients that are sourced to make each dish so well renowned. Selected for their seasonality, the ingredients really matter and enable the creation of constantly changing specials and seasonal classics. With ingredients sourced from within a 25 mile radius (as much as possible), and even getting some meat from their very own farm, you really can't get a more "locally sourced" meal. Combined with care and freshly cooked for you, each dish delivers the best of traditional pub food and more. For those looking for a lunchtime snack or a smaller meal there are also fresh sandwiches and baguettes and particularly fantastic hand-cut chips. On a Sunday, forget about the hours slaving away over a hot stove, the timing issues and hours spent peeling and preparing, opt for a hearty roast at The Anchor - From 12:00 onward spread out the papers, sit back, relax and enjoy a glass of wine or beer and ease yourself into the afternoon...
