The Mulberry Tree is a contemporary country restaurant and bar with a relaxed, informal atmosphere, excellent food, wine and service. It is set in the beautiful Kent countryside, only 4 miles from Staplehurst and has been extended and modernised to offer a restaurant and bar seating 75 guests. There is also a sunny terrace and garden for al fresco dining. The restaurant features in the current Michelin Guide and has been awarded two AA Rosettes. The cuisine style is 'modern British & European' using seasonal, free-range and organic produce that is sourced from local suppliers from within The Weald of Kent, in what really is The Garden of England. The philosophy is to offer value for money, using only the best ingredients. There is a menu that changes daily, together with a set-menu that offers unbeatable value for money. The set menu is available Tuesday through Saturday lunch and Tuesday through Friday dinner. On Sundays there is also a set menu available that is priced at £20.95 for 2 courses and £23.95 for 3 courses. There is an extensive wine list that includes many New World wines from smaller vineyards, together with the more well-known names, including English wines. Most of the wines are served by the glass and there is a full selection of beers, both draught and bottled available, together with locally sourced, organic soft drinks. The Mulberry Tree has become synonymous with first class food & service, an ethos that has been carried through into the outside catering and event management service also provided by The Mulberry Tree.

We came here on a Saturday night over Easter Weekend. Very welcoming. Girls were very polite and attentive. Starters perhaps a little over priced for what you got. Main meals superb. Steak perfect. Desserts again, a little overpriced for what you got. We couldn't have got a better service though from the waiter/waitresses. What was sadly lacking was 'people'. We were alone in the restaurant other than a couple of girls, a family of 3 and a small group joining as we were leaving. I thought that very odd for a Saturday night. Shame as it made the restaurant have no ambience at all.

I chose the Mulberry Tree as the venue for my Dad’s 80th Birthday Celebrations. Sunday Linch for a party of 28, we preordered our meals, we were also given the opportunity to select our menu. Karen, Lauren and their talented team made the day so very special for my Dad, they played their part iwith the Big ‘surprise’. The food and service were just outstanding, thank you so much for helping make a special occasion memorable!

This restaurant is a cut above most. It moves towards fine dining, without being too 'out there'. relaxed quiet atmosphere. We used a popular on-line offer voucher, and had a really tasty filling meal. Nice choice of cocktails, and a good wine menu. Third time we have been back, and will defo go again!

Have been here several times with Groupon Vouchers and each time cannot fault the beautiful food and excellent service all in a very serene setting. Must also add a big merci beaucoup to the ahem......delightfully handsome French waiter!!
