Dishoom (King's Cross)
Dishoom is beautifully kitsch, fast-paced and pays a loving homage to the Irani cafés that were once part of the fabric of life in Bombay. An interpretation of a Bombay brasserie in the style of the old post-colonial 'Irani cafés' of Bombay, with whirring ceiling fans, low-level lighting and walls adorned with vintage Indian magazine advertising.
The attractive menu includes birianis, bhel, pau bhaji and is complemented by a lovely house chai (Indian-style tea), excellent lassi concoctions, good wines by the glass and soft drinks such as Limca and Thums Up in glass bottles imported from Mumbai.
