The vibe at Porky's BBQ is low-key and the service friendly. On offer is Memphis-style cooking that is true to its roots: portions are huge, flavours are full-on and prices very reasonable. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you are transported to the Deep South, with music crooning through the speakers as guests devour vast slabs of meat in a casual, stripped-back setting of exposed brick walls, vintage posters and ambient lighting. As you would expect from the name, pork is the main event. Expect tender, perfectly seasoned, 18-hour slow-cooked pulled pork, and plump, juicy wet ribs as well as spit-roast barbecue chicken, fried catfish and quinoa chilli. This is complemented by excellent sides and an extensive British and American craft beer menu. Porky’s is a must-visit restaurant for meat-eaters looking for that deep south BBQ flavour and authenticity.
