Our favourite food to cook is fish, fish and more fish!
We have lots of fishy items on our Specials boards and our fresh fish is delivered by our local Fish Merchant every day. We use all local ingredients. Game in season from our local shoots, local Yorkshire meats, Eggs, Cheeses and if we can, we like to use local small artisan suppliers. We bake our own Bread fresh every day, churn our own butter and smoke all our own Salmon. We have our own Herb garden and our Head Chef forages in the local hedgerows. We like to keep it simple and let the food do the talking.

Imported from Italy. We light this every morning and serve Wood fired pizza at lunch time and early evening.

The ultimate Corona busting evening for friends! Outside in our herb garden. Our Moroccan Bedouin tent with log burner, big rugs, candles, and cushions. Exclusive use of our outside tables and Fire pit. Socially distance around our big table and enjoy pizzas from our wood fired pizza oven.

The Tickled Trout was originally built in the 17th Century as the Chequers Inn on the main road to York. The Mainey family bought the dilapidated pub in 2019 and closed for a six Month refurbishment. Re opening the open fires, the stone flag floors and the old oak beams. We have created five boutique bedrooms for guests. Surrounded by Countryside, there are lots of country walks to enjoy, Wetherby races are just next door and there is nothing like just sitting in front of our crackling fires with your spaniel a pint of local Ale.
