We had such a fantastic meal here, atmosphere, staff, decor, food all amazing. I am gluten free and had plenty to choose from. After our meal we went into the lovely quiet garden which was really peadful for us to catch up, really was the best meal we have had out together as we meet up every few months .

I was very excited to go to this restaurant as I had been told that it was run by some very talented chefs. The setting is lovely, it has a gorgeous mural of a horse in the main dining area. Outside seating is not great (picnic tables) and doesn't get a lot of when we were there (7pm in summer) so we relocated indoors. The staff were incredible. Very accommodating, kind and considerate. Gave us recommendations, free bread and were generally attentive and charming. Unfortunately the food wasn't to the same calibre. It wasn't awful, but the bun of the burger I ordered was too hard, although the meat was clearly of a high grade, there was nothing special about it. It was just a burger. Neither of us really felt much in the mood for dessert after our mains, which was dissapointing. Food wise, they seem to play it safe and not try anything exciting.

Had a lovely evening at the Black Boy. The menu has been updated since our last visit, which was a welcome surprise. Great food and very friendly and attentive staff. We will be back!

This is a great gastro pub. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the food was fresh tasting and delicious. Good selection of food on the menu and drinks are perfect too!
