The Black Boy is run by Chris Bentham and Abigail Rose who have taken the fine dining concept and turned it on its head by providing well-priced home-made food with Artisan bread and traditional pub fayre. The Black Boy Pub & Hotel has been an award winning Gastropub (and garden) for nine years and is located ten minutes from the centre of Oxford, with excellent access to the Ring Road, in quiet, beautiful Old Headington.

Stayed here on the way to Cheltenham races. Lovely place, with very welcoming and attentive staff. Dinner was excellent and good value and the rooms are very comfortable with every you need. The only tweak I would make is a slightly more comfortable seating for before or after your meal but overall its was a great find and we will definitely stay and eat here again

The staff at The Black Boy were helpful, courteous and made us feel very at home. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We recently had an evening out for a large group of school parents. It was great fun and the pub evening was perfect!

An interesting establishment with history and modernity blended elegantly and with top-quality service and first-class attention to detail.

Really nice pub, with candles around and an open fire, and the staff were lovely, but food awful! Haloumi burger was cold and the burger bun doughy and soggy. My linguine with meaballs was ok but only luke warm. Apple crumble looked more like a bowl of soup and had bits of plastic in it. The waiter said it was apple peel but we were not convinced! A shame, because its otherwise a very nice pub.
