The Black Boy is run by Chris Bentham and Abigail Rose who have taken the fine dining concept and turned it on its head by providing well-priced home-made food with Artisan bread and traditional pub fayre. The Black Boy Pub & Hotel has been an award winning Gastropub (and garden) for nine years and is located ten minutes from the centre of Oxford, with excellent access to the Ring Road, in quiet, beautiful Old Headington.

Lovely garden which is great on a sunny evening. Food and service very good. Been here a few times and will definitely return. Parking nearby is a bonus too

This is my second time to The Black Boy Gastropub. I'd go more often but it is an hour and a half from home. My friend loves mosaics and she was very keen to see the new Becky Paton mosaic in situ so suggested we visited for lunch. It's a lovely pub with a great atmosphere and ambience. The staff are very attentive and the food is delicious.

I chose this restaurant for my leaving do of 20 and I wasn't disappointed. It has lots of space and is easy to organise in advance; excellent communication from the staff and they will just get on with it. Some people commented that their food was excellent and everyone was pretty pleased. They forgot to bring me my dessert so gave it to me free at the end; a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend this place for a big party.

Looking forward to coming back soon both on business and socially again. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and atmosphere nothing was too much trouble for anyone (We only discovered your lovely garden when we were about to leave)
