The Eyston Arms sits in the middle of the oldest part of the historic village of East Hendred at the foot of the Ridgeway, just off the A417 between Wantage and Rowstock. In 2003 George and Cargie Dailey completed the total refurbishment of the Eyston Arms. Guests are greeted with a huge log fire, a rustic Cotswold flagstone floor, a series of cartoons of regular customers, simple polished tables and comfortable leather upholstered chairs. Daisy Barton has long been the face of the Eyston Arms and her vivacious personality drives the success of the pub that has received several awards and accolades in recent years. Maria Jaremchuk in in charge of the kitchen. A largely self-taught chef and very well respected within the industry. On offer is a constantly changing menu, which features local produce and game. But it is with fish that perhaps Maria is best known. Her contacts with small inshore fisherman, some of whom she has been down to meet personally, ensure that there are always first class Fish Specials available. There is also a private dining room which can seat up to 10 guests very comfortably. The Eyston Arms can also cater for weddings, private parties and office functions, and these are all tailored to individuals' requests.
