Mr Bao offers a fantastic Taiwanese-inspired menu of steamed milk buns, soft as pillows, wrapped around everything from pork belly to ice cream. The food is complemented by cocktails, beers and specialist aged teas brought in from Taiwan. The menu is succinct, with an extra board of specials on display each week. The dishes come as small tapas-style plates so it is suggested that you order two to three buns per person and then a couple of sides as well. There really are some great flavours to be discovered. Just a five minute walk from Peckham Rye overground station, Mr Bao is quietly tucked in among a string of shops on Rye Lane.

After recently welcoming our son to the world , this was our first venture out without him (we had babysitter.. promise). It went perfectly. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Venue was cosy but in a good way (not cramped ) music was great. Most importantly though the food was excellent. Was so full but still contemplated ordering more just to taste it all. Can’t fault the place and will be back as soon as we can make it work

Only a short 10 min walk from Peckham Rye station and very cute little cosy restaurant. Lovely service and lovely baos. It's very easy to book online for parties up to 6, and staff were very responsive via email to reserve a table for more than 6 people. Tasty food, £16 for bottomless brunch (1 hour) and also able to taste some of the drinks before purchasing! Great atmosphere and good space!

As a local of Peckham, Mr. Bao never fails to disappoint. I have been to Bao, and they have terrible veggie options. Mr Bao is infinitely better. Service is always top too :)
