The brainchild of Jon Saunders, who is also behind the city centre cocktail venue 10 Mill Lane, 29 Park Place, situated just opposite the National Museum of Wales, is a cosy-chic venue that has been designed to be ‘your new home away from home’, incorporating everyone’s favourite aspects of being out, but without the task of keeping it clean and tidy. This three-storey venue boasts an extensive cocktail menu, home-cooked food, which changes seasonally, bar snacks and a ‘snug’ with lavishly comfortable seating. Food is served from breakfast to dinner, with live music nights. Open from 8:00am to 1:00 am, the lounge bar offers a specific menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch. While live concerts are also held here, the usual musical ambience is rock and jazz from the 70s, 80s and 90s. 29 Park Place is a fantastic place to relax, a home away from home, with an old-school lounge meant to appeal to everyone from students and families to people who work nine to five. This includes VHS tapes of 90s movies to watch, Xbox games, a pool table and a library to enjoy.
