Back in the day Balham was Peter Sellers' Gateway to the South, a national joke coined by a comedy legend. Today the good folks of Balham have the last laugh as South London’s chuckle central is a mecca for laughter -lovers, hipsters and — hallelujah, mama! — Connoisseurs of the finest BBQ and rare beers, Bourbons and sipping whiskies to be found this side of the Atlantic divide. Loud and proud on Balham's main drag, Bodean's corner site bar and BBQ is a local landmark on the highway to the stars. Whether you wish to worship the ultimate Kansas City BBQ or sit at the elegant U-bar sampling a selection of prime Stateside ales and rare liquors, you know you've come home to good times.

Great visit to Bodeans again. Best BBQ Ribs in London. Love the wings and prawn skewers too. Staff are always helpful

We booked as we do when ever we have a Birthday and informed Bodean's Balham when we boooked. When we arrived our booking had a note advising staff 'one guest has a birthday'. Why did we do this? Becuase every year for the last 3 when we have had a birthday the staff have made a fuss and made the bithday meal a little special. We had an average meal and it felt like we were being hurrried to fnish because they wanted the table - Never again.

Went with my 2 teen and 21 year olds for casual family meal. Boys enjoyed the football while eating. As always great selection of options with family opting for burger, chicken, pulled pork and burnt ends and ribs. Friendly efficient service. Drinks prices a bit steep but food is good quality and value for money

As a family we've been loyal fans of Bodean's and eaten alot at Clapham and Balham branches and occassionally Soho branch Last night we eat at Balham ! with another friend who is a fan and couple of newbie's My friend and I both ordered the 1/2 baby ribs and pulled pork we couldn't believe the portion size we looked and both commented immediately that it had shrunk the pulled pork was two mouthfuls and tiny baby rib, and cold slew was in a tiny pot and all this for £17.99? it felt like a meal for tenner max! The welcome from woman at main reception was less than welcoming again not what we remembered from usual friendly staff and waiter service wasn't great - they were hanging around chatting luckily couple who came were impressed with location and their choice of food but for a long term fan - Bodean's has one strike against it - I can only hope its a one off otherwise i move on I meet the owner at The Oval a couple of years ago as he's friend of a friend - I was seriously going to ask my friend to mention that we'd had a disappointing meal the decor is great and has a good vibe - go back to size of meal you served in past and staff need to up their game !
