The Crown & Cushion, located just 2 minutes from Junction 4a of the M3, is cosy, yet spacious and welcoming with a number of splendid outside areas for alfresco drinking and dining. We are proud to serve fantastic food and drink and on Sundays, you can choose a Sunday lunch in the pub, or a superb carvery in the magnificent Meade Hall. Roaring log fires in winter, cricket on the green in summer! Next to the pub is our stunning Meade Hall – a Medieval-style banqueting hall built from timbers reclaimed from wrecks of the Spanish Armada. It is the ideal venue for hosting a wide range of functions and is particularly popular for wedding receptions.

Last Friday I booked a table for lunch for 11 people. The welcome was warm and friendly, as soon as we arrived. We were all impressed with the varied and extensive menu.Even a separate Vegan Menu, the first time we had been offered one, and we dine in different places, every other month! We all chose different meals and yet it all arrived together, not something that often happens when you are part of a large party. Also, we were impressed with the presentation of our selections. It was a warm, sunny day and the outside areas presented as a welcoming eating space, with each table set with an attractive fresh flower arrangement. We left saying, we will be back!!!

We came to have lunch as we were child free for the day. Food was amazing and table perfect. As usual it was very busy so had to wait a little while but that was ok as the food was with the wait. only criticisum would be not enough staff as we have up waiting to pay for the bill and took it up to the till ourselves but saying that they are recruiting so hopefully that will sort the issue.

We came for my birthday, and the meal was fabulous. I am lactose intolerant and your vegan menu enabled me to have both a starter and a dessert which suited my dietary needs perfectly. This was fantastic as usually I am quite limited by starters and most always unable to have a dessert, so many thanks to you for this. We will most certainly come again and I will be recommending you to my vegan and vegetarian friends who are always on the look out for places that the whole family can come and enjoy.

We were greeted nicely when we arrived. Drinks took about 20 mins to arrive and food was over 45 minutes and then only 2 lots of food arrived. Waited another nearly 10 mins before the other food arrived- to find it almost went to the wrong table. It would have been better if the waiter had come up to us and said, we are very busy so you might have a minimum 45 min wait for food!
