We had a fabulous evening, the steaks were really lovely just some niggly things. Waitress cleared our table whilst I was still eating my dinner which was embarrassing. The dessert menu consisted mainly of ice cream which was disappointing as we loved the cheesecake last time we visited. Though when my friend asked the waitress if you had cheesecake she did came back and say yes two portions but the rest of the party did not have dessert. Hoping it was just a blip as we have experienced excellent service in the past.

We are periodic, usually monthly, visitors to The Royal Oak, often early on a Saturday evening with family. We find there is a warm welcome from the staff and a good atmosphere within the front bar plus they are able to accommodate a 12 month old baby through provision of a highchair. The food is excellent 'pub grub' at a reasonable price and there is a good range of beers/real ales. Very good setting just below Holmbury hill so good for walkers and outdoor people. Can recommend.

We were greeted by the friendly staff that showed us to our table and took our drinks order straight away. She provided lots of information about the ales they had on offer (some of which are brewed at the pub and taste great!). We then had a delicious starter and traditional roast with all the trimmings. Portions are generous, and the price is very fair. We would not hesitate to recommend The Royal Oak to anyone and will certainly be bringing our family back to our new pub of choice after a walk on a Sunday.
