Banh Mi Bay
Vietnamese food is well known for being inherently healthy yet filling and full of flavour. We use an abundance of raw salads and herbs which retains the nutrients and vibrant colours in our dishes. We also cook with 'healing' spices including ginger, lemongrass, turmeric and garlic.
Cultural history in a bowl
Vietnam is a country historically torn by war, invasions and colonialism. It changed the modern landscape and heavily influenced the food that Vietnamese people cooked and ate. The incredible dishes that we make today still shows the impact of Vietnam's history on our cuisine.
Amazingly, although the country experienced such turmoil, the warmth and hospitality of the people survived....

Miserable waiter that overcharged us

Went in for a bite to eat before Christmas shopping. Money is tight so went for a kids meal for my daughter and a side of chips for me, and a coke and juice. Kids meal was burger and chips, came as a dry overcooked burger in a bun and a scattering of chips. Nothing else in the bun. Drinks were a small glass but charging as a pint. My friend also ordered some chicken and a coffee. Waiter was so grumpy and we felt like he was annoyed because we didn't order much. Food was OK but not worth the money and we split the bill. We were charged service charge per person. And I was still overcharged with that on top. Waiter said you are paying the rest and didnt even show me the card machine. Service charge is discretionary and the waiter did not need to add that per person. Happy to pay tips for good service, but this was very poor. Very unfriendly and snobby place. Food not great. Drinks extortionate. Will never return and will never recommend.

Had a number of good meals here including steak, pizza and a good fish and chips. Previously made the best Negroni in town. But sadly this art seems to have been lost by current staff hence 4;stars
