Beach House is one of Shoreham-by-Sea's most loved restaurant, bar and café. Located in the heart of the historic old town on East Street's new pedestrianised boulevard, the restaurant serves freshly-prepared locally-sourced food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. From the excellent breakfasts and lunches through to the sumptuous home-made afternoon teas, Beach House offers a family-friendly daytime environment in which to meet friends or entertain colleagues. In the evening, the restaurant dinner menu mixes much-loved classics with a changing selection of innovative dishes. Combining the freshest quality local ingredients, it offers one of the liveliest specials board in town. The food's philosophy at Beach House our philosophy is simple: using only the the freshest seasonal produce, locally-sourced where possible, to create an innovative range of mouth-wateringly delicious dishes. Expect to find treats such as risotto made with Sussex Charmer and artichokes, roast rump of Sussex lamb from Beachy Head in Sussex, and home-made bitter chocolate tart served with Downsview Farmhouse ice cream. The fresh seafood is locally caught and even the bread is baked each morning on the premises. Many of the great products found on the restaurant menu are also available to take home. The Beach House bar is kept well stocked with a selection of ice cold draft beers and a full range of premium spirits. The highlight of the bar is the extensive cocktail menu where well-known classics rub up against Beach House's own creative twists and innovations.

I had amazing mussels, part of the mussels festival menu. They were cooked to perfection and the sauces were delicious. Pudding was great too. Tasty food in a beautiful modern setting.

A friend and I arranged to go especially for the annual Mussel Festival as both our partners aren't fans of sea food! It is wonderful to have this kind of opportunity just around the corner and at a reasonable price. Unfortunately it was quite quiet in the restaurant when we went, but hopefully it will be busier as the week progresses and into the weekend. As always really tasty food and great that you get a 2nd lot of fries/bread for round 2 of the mussels! Our only complaint (as such!) was that the waiter seemed very nervous and almost frightened of interrupting conversation to ask how our food was etc. However, he was polite and responsive and the service was prompt.

I visit this restaurant as often as possible and really admire the owner / chef setup. The menu changes regularly to suit the seasonal produce and the Valentines set menu was brilliantly executed - 6 interesting and flavoursome dishes for £35 represents excellent value in a smart privately owned restaurant. I wouldn't normally choose a few of the dishes but I thoroughly enjoyed every single one, which is credit to the chef. Service was very good and if anything possibly a little over attentive... but always with a smile. Sitting by the window on a cold night wasn't the best choice but they'd gone to the trouble of providing electric heaters which definitely helped :) Overall I still think this is the best restaurant in Shoreham, especially in the summer when you can share a seafood platter outside on the pedestrianized street. Keep it up guys!
