The Angel Inn is a warm and welcoming inn and the idyllic base set in the South Downs National Park with much to see and do in the town or from which to explore the many interesting places nearby. This ideal place where you can relax and unwind is situated just 300 yards from the Market Square, the centre of Petworth, one of Britain’s most attractive market towns. The un-spoilt bar boasts ships beams, wooden and slate floors, stone walls and three fireplaces, one of which is used to spit roast joints of meat. The inn, which has medieval origins, has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment of its accommodation. You can also enjoy a relaxing stay in one of The Angel's six cozy and luxurious rooms, with a variety of rooms to suit couples, families and individuals. The Angel Inn is also dog friendly, welcoming your furry friends with open arms.

We have been several times both with friends and just by ourselves and The Angel offers 'traditional' old-fashioned ambience, beams, curtains, lots of wooden panels, log fires, dogs and newspapers. Acoustics very good, full of people chatting but sound absorbed so you can hear your own conversation. Food excellent and friendly service

Food not the best, reheated and greasy! Team seemed under staffed, although everyone that served us was lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our celebratory Sunday lunch at the Angel. The pub is relaxed in style but beautifully presented. Staff were friendly and the food very good. We felt unhurried and very much at home. Definitely a pub that has made it onto our, very, short list!

A friend and I had a midweek lunch here and as usual the food was superb. Friendly and attentive service paired with a great cosy atmosphere.
