The Fox & Hounds pub & restaurant offers fine dining in relaxed, elegant surroundings in the charming village of Funtington, near Chichester in West Sussex, boasting a truly fantastic wine list, well-stocked bar with a wide range of real ales, large garden and impeccable, friendly service. This delightful building and garden was fully renovated in 2007, with the intention of sympathetically maintaining as many of the period features as possible, while at the same time creating an inviting and comfortable space. The Fox & Hounds benefits from a truly fortunate geographical position, with the coast and its beautiful sandy beaches (such as West Wittering) a mere stone's throw southwards, and the stunning South Downs National Park directly to the north. As such, it offers visitors to the county a perfect spot to relax whilst exploring the area; and there are countless attractions in the immediate vicinity, such as the Goodwood estate (home of the renowned Festival of Speed, Revival Meeting and Glorious Goodwood events – a veritable mecca for motor-sport and flat racing enthusiasts alike as well as lovers of grand spectacle), the Roman palace at Fishbourne, Chichester Cathedral, or Portsmouth's historic dockyard and Spinnaker Tower to name but a few. For private events, The Common Room is a beautifully restored stylish Georgian function room last used to hold small dances for the Canadian Air Force based around Funtington in the Second World War that is ideal for private dining for 10-35 guests or larger parties with an informal buffet service and bar.
