We have been 3 times to the Ginger Fox and each time the food has been magnificent. This last time maybe the best of all. However, this last time the overall service was dreadful. At first it was the usual efficiency. Taken to our table and offered drinks. But after that the wait between events was unacceptably long. It seemed an age before our dinner plates were removed after we had finished. We nearly put them on the nearby table. The coffee was brought fairly quickly but then it was a long time before my wife's desert was produced. No one informed us of of any delays which didn't help. Then again we eventually had to ask for the bill. I have one problem with their billing system. It says there is an optional 10% service charge added. But as it is already added to the bill it makes it almost a fait accomplit, as besides the slight uncomfortable feeling it gives, I presume another bill would need to be produced. In my opinion there should be no service charge as you could hardly expect to have your meal without being served. The "service charge" or "tip" should be totally dependent o the service you have received. This is how it should be. Otherwise establishments would not have to worry about service at all, other than how it may affect their business. It is also not made clear who gets this "added 10%". We sort of forgave them as the food was indeed magnificent, but being a higher priced establishment, we would expect service to match.

This has to be the best meals out I have had for a very long time. The food is ridiculously good. Order the brussell sprouts - trust me on this one - who knew brussells could taste so good!?? We will definitely be back.

We booked a Sunday evening dinner and it was very enjoyable. The ambiance was warm and friendly, the restaurant looked pretty and cosy and the food was absolutely beautiful, well cooked and beautifully presented. it made a birthday dinner very memorable. We weren't rushed and we able to sit and just enjoy the whole evening at a pleasant pace. We will be back!

We had our Christmas Meal at the Ginger Fox. Lovely atmosphere and very cosy / winter-warmer looking inside. Fabulous service and great food. Perfect for catching up with friends and enjoying a nice evening...
