The French Horn
The French Horn offers an excellent dining experience in Berkshire and has been providing hospitality for two hundred years. Originally a coaching inn, the hotel has been run by the Emmanuel family since 1972, with a focus on providing quality food and excellent service. It has a reputation as one of the finest restaurants in Reading, with comfortable rooms.
The French Horn sits next to the bridge in the busy little village of Sonning on Thames. The hotel is on the banks of the River Thames, providing a stunning backdrop for the restaurant as you relax in the dining room, looking out at this pretty stretch of the Thames, it is hard to believe that you are such a short journey away from London.
A pretty private dining room adjoins the main restaurant, which in turn opens on to the sweeping lawns down to the river - an ideal setting for an intimate dinner, or a perfect Sunday lunch. Shaded by weeping willows, and graced by swans and moorhens, softly floodlit at night, the gardens offer a romantic riverside setting for summer dining, and pretty views on a chilly winter's night.
Delicious food, a superb wine list and comfortable rooms – in a beautiful riverside setting.
Situated a stone's throw from Henley-on-Thames, The French Horn is also ideally located for racing at Ascot, Sandown, Windsor and Newbury. Walks and golf courses abound nearby.
