The Greyhound

Dining at The Greyhound
Fresh, seasonal British food makes the menu at The Greyhound, with traditional dishes given a stylish modern twist by Head Chef Martin and served up at lunch and dinner alongside daily fish specials.
Dining here is something of a local affair - meat coming from the local butcher and fruit and veg sourced from suppliers to the village market. Bar the ice cream and the bread, everything is made fresh in house.

We were a group of 8 blokes who hadn't met up for ages and the Young staff serving us were very professional and polite throughout the 4 hours we were there. We had booked a table for 12:00 but had a couple off pints outside when we arrived and didn't sit down until 12:45 which was no problem. Most of us enjoyed the food especially the Beef and Salmon although a couple of us thought the Chicken was a bit overdone. Overall it was a nice experience and we would return.

Overall the lunch was fine, with a nice atmosphere and staff. Our beef was quite tough however, which was aggravated by being carved with the grain (rather than against the grain). The veggies, Yorkshire puddings and everything else was very good.

The staff are very polite and very friendly. I’ve been coming for a couple years now and the food never disappoints! Best roast dinner I’ve ever had.

Chicken burgers were not cooked properly sadly. We have eaten at the pub several times and were disappointed with the quality of the food this time. We had our 2 meals taken off the menu but will wonder what happened in the kitchen to allow chicken out uncooked.
