Stepping out of the lift on the seventh floor of South Place Hotel, guests are greeted by an elegant dining room that sparkles beneath a mirrored ceiling by sculptors Grace & Webb. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out across the City of London, transforming the light from crisp pale blue to inky hues from day to night. Though Angler is known for its sensational seafood, vegetarians and carnivores are also well catered for. Angler Bar is a hidden gem, tucked around the corner from the main restaurant. The intimate seating areas are overlooked by Emma Peel, the legendary spy from The Avengers, immortalised in a giant light-box by London artist Jeremy Lord. A mouth-watering bar snacks and cocktail menu has been created especially for bar guests not dining in Angler or on the terrace. At the far end of the restaurant, Angler's terrace looks west towards Moorgate. In high summer there are BBQs, live DJs and a spectacular buzz. In the winter, heated parasols and cosy blankets keep guests toasty.
