Paternoster Chop House

Paternoster Chop House is a bustling restaurant and vibrant bar offering traditional classics and modern British dishes with a daily changing menus, in a stylish, central location by St Paul's Cathedral. As the name suggests, Paternoster Chop House is a traditional British chop house, meaning that they buy all their meat on the bone and butcher it themselves, using sympathetic preparation methods to bring out the best of each cut. The kitchen team try to use all parts of the animal to create interesting and varied menus, ranging from Aberdeen Angus wing-rib or whole roast suckling lamb, to bone marrow crostini and veal faggots. When in season, game, including venison, wild boar and game birds are served with all the trimmings. The dishes are designed according to the best quality ingredients available each day – the fish is bought directly from selected day-boat fishermen every morning in order to provide the finest, freshest catch, while at the same time promoting sustainable fishing methods. Fruit and vegetables are bought according to each season and are sourced locally where possible, as well as wild-foraged plants such as wild garlic and sea vegetables. This approach has led to Paternoster Chop House being awarded a coveted 3* rating by the Sustainable Restaurant Association. Whatss more, everything is made in-house: from the hand-cut chips to the freshly baked bread and condiments, which are made to Paternoster Chop House's unique recipes.
