The Black Rock

The Black Rock restaurant is all about top notch Cornish produce, super fresh fish and shellfish, meat and game from nearby farms and fantastic seasonal vegetables. Put simply: great food, great drinks and great service at a great price. Proprietors Emma and David Symons are the fourth generation to work from the premises, changing its role from a hardware shop to a restaurant in 2008. Emma runs the floor of the restaurant and David is the creative force in the kitchen. The Black Rock focuses on flavoursome rustic style dishes, old school favourites and simply cooked but well executed seafood. David strongly believes that by cutting away all the unnecessary frills, they can serve their guests top class ingredients at affordable prices. The menu can vary from day to day, depending on the catch or availability of produce. And naturally it reflects the changing seasons. There is also special boards, which can change daily. Beers, ciders, juices and some soft drinks come from Cornwall. The carefully selected wine list also changes regularly to accompany the food on the current menu.
