The Seahorse

Specializing in seafood and located on the banks of the River Dart in Dartmouth, The Seahorse is lucky to have some of the best fish and shellfish in the world landed on their doorstep. The restaurant is driven by the belief that seafood of this quality requires skilful but simple preparation to enjoy it as its best. Much of the seafood served in the restaurant is roasted over an open charcoal fire with just a few herbs and their own olive oil. There is also a number of specialities including roasted monkfish, scallops roasted with white port, black rice and, spaghetti with local seafood, for those wishing not to eat seafood there is also a choice of meats including an amazing rib of Angus beef roasted over the fire. The current menu features a variety of species depending on daily availability, which may include cuttlefish, small squid, turbot, sole & mussels which are grown in Elberry cove just a few miles away. During the summer months you may enjoy some of the finest lobster, brown crab and spider crab, which are prepared fresh each day. In addition to the wonderful seafood the restaurant receives weekly deliveries from the markets of Milan and Paris that includes baby artichokes from Brittany, Burratta from Andria in Puglia and Heirloom tomatoes grown in the UK. There is an extensive wine list of over 180 bins starting at £19, all carefully chosen to complement the seafood.
