The Swan (Bampton)
The Swan is located in the charming historic town of Bampton, Devon, an area well known for its hunting, fishing, shooting and hugely popular with ramblers and cyclists alike. The magnificent Exmoor National Park is just six miles away and the beautiful beaches of North and South Devon are only a 40 minute drive away.
The Swan, being the oldest pub in Bampton, was originally lodgings to accommodate the masons and other craftsmen who were hired to enlarge the church in 1450. St Michaels church can be seen from the terrace just behind the pub. The Swan embraces the use of local produce to create some timeless old pub classics.
The menu is inspired using local, fresh, seasonal ingredients on a daily basis, keeping menus simple, yet bursting with flavour and imagination. From the freshly baked bread at the start of your meal to the sticky toffee pudding, everything is made in-house so that it is as fresh as it can possibly be.
On Sundays, guests can enjoy a hearty roast made with locally reared meat from the Hill's farm. There is well-kept real ale on the hand pumps with guest ales and a keen selection of wines from around the world to suit all tastes.
