Dolce Vita

Dolce Vita is a fine dining Italian restaurant, specialising in homemade food, traditional recipes and authentic ingredients. Our Chefs have taken their oldest family recipes and given them a modern twist to create something truly remarkable. We’d all love the odd weekend getaway in Rome or Sardinia, but most of us don’t get the chance. Therefore, we’ve created a little part of Italy in Ashley Cross, Poole.

We arrived at 7pm for our meal and eventually left at around 9.30 after just a starter and main course - no desserts or coffee. The food was good but the waiters were inattentive and very slow to deliver the two courses. We were given menus at the start but had to wait ages for drinks and starters. We tried catching the eye of waitresses several times but they didn't seem to be looking and appeared more interested in chatting to one another. They forgot to bring our second lot of drinks. We waited ages for our main course and had to go up to the counter to ask for dessert menus as nobody was paying attention to the care of customers. Apart from ice cream the limited desserts all contained amaretto which was not ideal for one of our guests who can't drink alcohol. Limoncello was brought to the table at the end of the meal but it would have been sensible to ask, just in case anyone couldn't tolerate alcohol. Altogether unimpressed, although the food itself was tasty.

Had a fantastic meal here, can thoroughly recommend the garlic chilli mushrooms for a starter our waiter kindly took the cost of focaccia off the total as GF wasn’t in stock, other than that plenty of GF choice Only slight criticism is hardly any veggie options but, again, v flexible as I was able to go for ricotta & spinach tortellini without ham, showed the food isn’tpre prepared or bought in! Good deal on week nights too 50% of mains with any starter We’ll def be back!

We are here for a short break and our dinner was by far the best part of our break. Food was delicious and tasty. I had squid starter and it was by far the most delicious plate of food I have eaten in a long time. The restaurant is decorated lovingly the staff were friendly and were informative with what was best to try drinks were kept topped up. I highly recommend

Delicious food, attentive service and great ambiance. I brought two friends with me who’d never been before and they loved it. We’ll all be back. Grazie.
