A friend and I decided to brave the roads and icy temperatures for a long overdue catch up last Friday. We have visited the restaurant a few times over the years but now we live 150 miles apart so was looking forward to enjoying good food and being looked after. Unfortunately we found the experience very rushed and the food disappointing. We were shown to our seats and within a minute or two someone came back to offer drinks, which is fair enough, but then were asked at least twice by 3 people in the following 5 minutes if we were ready to order. It was clear that we were talking and probably had not read the menu. The starters that we ordered were only just about hot, so did not keep their heat. The mains did not appear to be freshly cooked and were not presented to the standard that they have been in the past. The Pad Thai was a sticky mess, you could not even identify a noodle on the plate and Drunken Duck, to me, tasted like it may have been subjected to freezer burn. Very disappointing - and even more so because (for all that staff) not one person asked us if the the food was okay!
