Our most popular restaurants
Our most popular restaurants in the UK is an organic and ever changing list, carefully compiled and monitored, based on the feedback we receive from diners country-wide. So what makes a great restaurant? The food obviously - but the location, seating, how far apart the tables are, service, staff, surroundings, general ambience and value for money - and this list is not exhaustive - must also be taken into account.
Restaurants have to make us want to go there, whether for a quick lunch, dinner with friends or a special occasion meal. But what makes one better than the other? Do you follow the recommendations of food critics' reviews, bloggers, social media or food guides?
The UK food scene evolves so quickly and in in such a way that it is hard to keep up. New trends are constantly emerging, keeping things constantly fresh. Both the casual and fine-dining scenes are very dynamic, with an increasing array of ever-more-inventive restaurant concepts coming to life.
The restaurant scene in the UK has never been so vibrant and even areas previously devoid of decent food are now becoming hot culinary destinations. At favouritetable, although like many foodies, we are thrilled by novelty, we try to go beyond the hype. Our core focus for awesome food, fabulous atmosphere and great service is also driven by consistency, not just the restaurants that food critics are currently thrilled about, where tables are like gold dust or places that are just serving the most interesting and inventive food in town right now. We welcome the ever changing landscape of the restaurant scene, but we also favour restaurants that have substance and that are not merely a fad that will be here for a while and then disappear.
At favouritetable, we base ourselves on personal recommendations from friends and colleagues and real reviews and feedback from diners. We also try those restaurants for ourselves, just to be on the safe side (well, someone has to do it!).
