Sitting half way between Stroud and Nailsworth, this 250 year-old former coaching inn, built in the heyday of the Stroud wool industry, oozes rustic character and charm. The Old Fleece has a very relaxed and homely atmosphere and is run by a team of staff who are friendly, attentive and efficient. Enjoy the lively atmosphere of the popular terrace during the summer months and snuggle up next to the roaring fire when the nights draw in. The talented kitchen staff is headed up by Richard Whiting who has designed a delicious menu that is served seven days a week between 11am and 10pm. Richard is well known for his specials board and his fish Fridays bring the best of the coastal day boats with some amazing offers. The Old Fleece is extra special due to Grigshot Orchard being next door, the three acres of historic orchard that Nick and Christophe have been farming, bringing you the best local meat and produce possible. The Old Fleece is the perfect venue for staff parties and corporate lunches – a great place to unwind from the stress of work and relax a little.
