The ElmTree
A family owned and run business, offering a homemade menu for Carnivores, Herbivores, Folivores and Omnivores!
The ElmTree is a thatched pub, with parts that date back to the 16th Century – based in Hightown Ringwood, 1 minute from the A31, with a large sunny beer garden, easy-access facilities, and wonderful made-from-scratch-food. Recently purchased by a local family, the pub is now owned and operated by Paul, Katherine and Deborah Risbridger who live directly opposite. A lively main bar is complemented by a cozy beamed restaurant serving a range of great value pub-grub meals and specials. A warm welcome is guaranteed for guests and their four-legged friends.
The ElmTree is the perfect start for a New Forest adventure – by foot, on a bike, on horseback or in your car. A sunny south-facing garden is a great spot in the summer and although there is no play area for children, there is a selection of games and toys available. Sunday roasts are very popular throughout the year, and particularly in the winter when the enormous open fire is blazing. The 16th century tithe barn adjacent to the main pub incorporates a remarkable vaulted ceiling and solid wooden floors, a skittle alley, and its own bar, making it the ideal venue for weddings, parties, and business events!

We had a very good evening but was very disappointed with the very very small amount of Monk Fish that we served I realise that it is a very expensive fish but the amount that was served was not good

pub was lovely, clean and well presented with a lovely area outside, staff were very accommodating and friendly, however food wasn't very nice consider8ng the price (over cooked, luke warm and greasy) and menu was lacking in choice, especially children's menu.

The pub itself and the staff we would rate as very good. Unfortunately the roast beef was very tough and the roast turkey needed quite a bit of chewing. We took 2/3 of the meat home for the dog. Roast potatoes not light and crispy more pale and just about cooked through. Everything was very bland and pretty tasteless including the vegetables. However the wine was good, but the Timothy Taylor’s beer needs storing and pouring properly. Table was quite sticky and needs a good clean. Didn’t complain but definitely won’t be going again and would have reviewed unless asked, which we were.
