A quick reference for updating and managing the content on your website.
Getting into the editor
Where to go to start making changes.
- Log in to your account dashboard.
- Select the website you want to update.
- Click Edit Site (or the pencil/edit icon) to open the visual editor.
- Click directly on any part of the page to select it. Most elements can be edited in place, without needing a separate menu.
Tip: Changes you make in the editor are only visible to you until you publish them.
Editing text
Update headings, paragraphs, and labels anywhere on a page.
- Click directly on the text you want to change. A text cursor will appear.
- Select the text and type to replace it, or place your cursor to add new text.
- Highlight text to reveal a small formatting toolbar for bold, italic, links, alignment, and font size.
- Click anywhere outside the text box to save your change automatically.
Tip: To keep your site looking consistent, avoid manually resizing text everywhere. Use heading and paragraph styles where possible.
Editing images
Swap out photos, logos, and graphics.
- Hover over an image and click it, or click the small camera/edit icon that appears on it.
- Choose Replace Image to upload a new file from your device, or select one from your existing image library.
- Use the built-in cropping and positioning tools to adjust how the image is framed.
- Click Save or click outside the image to apply the change.
Tip: Use similarly sized, high-resolution images across your site so pages load quickly and look uniform.
Working with blocks
Blocks are the sections that make up a page (e.g. a banner, a gallery, a contact form).
- Add a block: Hover over the space between two existing blocks until a plus (
+) icon appears, then click it to browse and insert a new section. - Move a block: Select the block and drag it using its move handle to reorder it on the page.
- Duplicate a block: Select the block and choose Duplicate to reuse a layout elsewhere on the page.
- Hide or delete a block: Select the block and choose Hide (to keep it for later) or Delete (to remove it permanently).
Buttons and links
Make sure your calls-to-action point where they should.
- Click on a button or a piece of linked text to select it.
- Open its link settings and choose the destination: another page on your site, an external website, an email address, a phone number, or a specific section of the current page.
- Update the button label directly by clicking on its text.
Managing pages
Add, rename, or reorganize the pages on your site.
- Add a page: Open the pages menu (usually in the top toolbar) and choose Add Page.
- Rename a page: Open the page settings and update its title. This also updates how it appears in your site's navigation menu.
- Set your homepage: In the pages menu, mark the page you want visitors to land on first as the homepage.
- Delete a page: Open the page settings and choose delete. Remember this cannot usually be undone.
Header and footer
These appear on every page, so edit them with care.
- The header typically contains your logo and main navigation menu.
- The footer typically contains contact details, social links, and secondary navigation.
- Because these sections are shared across all pages, any edit you make here updates your entire site at once.
Checking the mobile view
Confirm your site looks good on smaller screens.
- Use the device switcher in the editor toolbar to preview desktop, tablet, and mobile views.
- Most spacing and text sizing adjusts automatically, but you can fine-tune individual elements for mobile if needed.
- Always check your mobile view after making significant layout changes.
Saving and publishing
Make your changes go live.
- Edits are typically saved automatically as you work.
- Click Preview to review your changes before they go live.
- Click Publish to push your changes to your live website.
