Quite Simply French

Our restaurant is in an old converted house by the side of the River Lune. St. George’s Quay was built in 1750, during Lancaster’s Golden Age as a port. Lancaster imported sugar, cotton, rum and mahogany and exported furniture and general merchandise to the colonies in North America and West Indies The double-height glass-fronted entrance leads to a ground floor setting with bare stone walls, large gilt frame mirrors and low lighting, set in to thick wooden beams, while the mezzanine floor above offers a view out over Lancaster’s River Lune. The candlelit romance of the Quite Simply French is intensified by its location and the interior is modern contemporary, refurbished after the Lancaster floods in 2015. We create innovative seasonal menus that change every day, and only use only the very finest ingredients from local and specialist suppliers. Our ethos is bespoke, which means our all our dishes are cooked to order and served with a friendly smile. We have a number of cosy and romantic booths downstairs and a mezzanine floor, where we can offer our uniquely personal touch to 100 diners.

Had a really good big brunch and my wife enjoyed her bacon pancakes. The coffee was great, as was the service

Have visited many time’s in the past 2 years but have to say the food has deteriorated since the opening, I had the traditional breakfast this morning when it arrived it was Luke warm the mushrooms shrivelled sausage and bacon part cooked!!!! Very disappointed guys it looked bland and really isn’t good enough. To add to that the cappuccino was warm like it had sat around.
