Bittersweet Leith

Bittersweet, an innovative restaurant and bar, was established by a dynamic duo of Italian brothers aiming to introduce the captivating essence of Italian 'aperitivo' to the heart of the city. At its core, Bittersweet offers delectable cuisine and beverages inspired by the rich traditions of Italy.

Heading the establishment is Fabrizio, the current director of the esteemed local artisanal distillery, Old Poison. With his exceptional expertise, Fabrizio elevates the concept of mixology to new heights by crafting in-house fermented delights such as mead wine and kombucha. Alongside the array of creations from the distillery, Bittersweet offers a tantalizing selection of handcrafted cocktails.

Simone, the younger brother, showcases his culinary prowess as the chef of Bittersweet. He masterfully combines the best of both worlds, seamlessly blending traditional Italian dishes with the vibrant flavors found in Italian street food. The result is a truly distinctive and captivating culinary experience.

Together, these brothers have brought their passion and creativity to Bittersweet, providing a haven where guests can immerse themselves in the authentic taste and culture of Italy.

Rapidly becoming our favourite restaurant. Fabrizio and the guys there are very welcoming and the ambience is warm and casual. The food is excellent and consists of small Italian sharing plates, although if you’re like me there are some you won’t want to share. There is also an extensive cocktail menu with both traditional and some creative inventions to choose from. Highly recommended GO
