The Grain Store

The Grain Store believes in providing the very best of Scottish produce: Scottish beef and lamb, market fresh fish and seafood, venison, game birds, forest picked wild mushrooms and the finest fresh fruits and vegetables in season. All the dishes are prepared 'a la main' - individually cooked to order with accompanying sauces prepared on the spot. Starters are served with a selection of home-made bread, baked every morning. Both the 'a la carte' and 'Table d' hôte' menus are imaginative and well-balanced to cater for all tastes. The wine list features an extensive range of European and New World wines. To round off your meal you may choose from a selection of 'in house' desserts created by the pastry chef. Cheeses are served with home-made oatcakes, wafers and chutney. The Restaurant is tucked away on the upper floor of No 30 Victoria Street beneath the stone vaulting and archways of the original store rooms used by the warren of shops below. Today, its various alcoves and adjoining rooms provide an intimate setting. Located a stone's throw away from the castle, the unique atmosphere is further enhanced by the view over the picturesque sweep of Victoria Street and the historic West Bow.
