Second time in a week and just as good.

After an enjoyable first visit earlier in the week, we decided to treat ourselves to a second lunch out. My mum was keen to try the liver - which, fortuhately, was available this time - and was not disappointed. I had the fish pie and was very surprised to see the pie studded with mussels and two huge whole prawns on the top! Not you run of the mill fayre. Our dessets, home made ice cream and the chocolate pudding, were faultless. Although there was a large party of diners in the function room, we were well looked after and service was friendly and efficient. Top marks again.
Very pleasant evening

Not been here for a while but had heard it was as good as it used to be. We weren't disappointed. The food was creative and delicious, the service was polite and efficient and the atmosphere was relaxed.

My wife and I had not been to the Crown since just before Christmas last year and this was an inspired return. We had the glorious crab soup and equally-wonderful onion soup and the seafood platters. We will certainly not leave it as long for our next visit. Thank you,Michellw

This was our first visit to "The Crown" in a very long time and we were very impressed. The staff are friendly and the service was as good as we've had in the area. The food is definitely a good few notches up from your regular pub fayre. I had the lamb from the specials board, cooked three ways, and it was outstanding. My mum had the steak pie with mash and was equally impressed (though was disappointed not to have been able to have the liver, which she rather fancied) . The desserts were an added indulgence and were generous in portion size and equally delicious. Full marks, too, for automatically providing dessert forks. Most waiting staff we encounter around here don't even know what a dessert fork is, when we invariably have to ask! The pub was full which, for a Tuesday lunchtime, speaks volumes about the reputation of the place locally. We'll definitely be back - maybe even within the week.
