Fat Hippo (Glasgow)

Fat Hippo is a group of independent burger restaurants, based in locations over the North and Midlands, and now in Cardiff. Looking for the best burgers and fries of the dirty variety? Good food, messy fingers and juicy burgers - that's Fat Hippo's motto.
Born in 2010 with roots in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Fat Hippo is renowned for the best burgers in the North. Recognised for their quality ingredients and quirky flavours, a decent vegan, gluten-free and kids' selection to feed all of the family. This is ‘good old fashioned, roll up your sleeves and get it all over your face’ food.

Well we have been coming here for years and I have to say this was the worst meal we have had. The vegetables were uncooked the heat was not fresh as it normally is and very short in supply . Staff were excellent but we have decided won’t be coming back for quite a while really put us off. We got no compensation even though we did tell the staff I paid £49 and sorry. Not happy at all.

My husband and I had breakfast here on Saturday morning and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered an orange juice, pot of boiling water (I don’t drink tea or coffee) and the eggs florentine. The food was presented beautifully, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection with gorgeous deep orange yolks. There were lots of spinach, which I love and just the right amount of hollendaise sauce (some places pour over too much and the whole meal just tastes of the sauce). This was perfect for me. My husband ordered The Full Monty and said it was cooked very well and was very tasty, he felt the components of his breakfast were very good quality, it was a huge portion which he polished off. He had a pot of tea and said it was very nice. We would definitely return and highly recommend.

Ate early (5.00pm) with group of 10, ages 73-15mths. Looked after very well by staff and good choice of freshly cooked food for all ages. Flexible service to meet the needs of 5 adults and 5 children.

4 Burger Family - All good.

Even the youngest has converted to a burger and loaded fries now. The burgers are as tasty as ever and the value is fantastic. You won’t be disappointed.
