Long and cold

My wife and myself had booked a table for breakfast on Sunday morning at 11am. We duly turned up at the appointed time, we were seated at our table and a young lady took our food and drinks order at approximately 11.05. All good our tea and coffee arrived within minutes. My wife drank her coffee. I eventually drank my tea after requesting both a tea spoon and some sugar which had not arrived along with the tea. We then spent the next 35 minutes waiting for our food to arrive. My wife ate hers as it was just about warm entropy do so, I had to send mine back as everything on the place was if a tepid temperature at best. I then waited a further 10 minutes for the replacement food. On arrival I again found the first I checked, that being the baked beans were not alone no hot but were in fact stone cold. At this point I asked the waitress for our bill. She proceeded to get the bill for my wife’s food with unbelievably the service charge included. She proceeded to apologise and state that it was very embarrassing . But as I said to her an apology is all good and well but it will not either allow me to eat with my wife or indeed feed me. I have been to Bill’s in Saint Albans, Watford and Victoria and have to say that Braintree is way out on its own as the worst one I have had the dubious pleasure of visiting. Brendan E.
