Great food, fast service and good drinks. Only down side is we felt a bit crammed in on the side tables, and one of the chair was not rickety to sit on.

Fat hippo. There is quite simply no better burger out there. (we had 2x Fat Hippos - maybe one day we'll try a different one) relaxed but attentive staff (thanks Mia) there are so few restaurants where you leave full and so satisfied.

We were in Jesmond to pick up our daughter after her second year at Uni and decided to go here. Friendly service and people who want to make sure you have enjoyed your food. We will be back next term! Recommend!

Took my girlfriend who is coeliac and they had plenty of options for her. Even told us that everything gluten free is cooked in a separate fryer and when our food came out (which was fast) she commented on my wallfle fries and that she might nick one but the waitress said that they are cooked in the same fryer as the other stuff with gluten containing ingredients. Staff were very well informed overall and would recommend.

We stopped into Fat Hippo, Jesmond on Saturday lunchtime ahead of a full day out at the Rugby (Magic Weekend) and there's really no better way to prepare! This is our 4th visit to a Fat Hippo, and every single time the service has been impeccable and the food has been superb. We only have one request from our party, and that's to please bring back the "Stinky Pete"! For anyone else missing it, going with the "Fat Hippo" and adding blue cheese ranch was apparently a pretty close recreation. Personally I went for the PB & JJ and despite being a little apprehensive, I'd order it again in a heartbeat!
