Pappardelle Ristorante & Osteria

Ristorante Pappardelle opened as a small family run restaurant back in November 1988. The owners come from just outside the town of Conegliano in the Veneto, N.E. Italy. April 2010 saw the opening of the Osteria on the ground floor. The restaurant is a traditional Italian Ristorante with waiter service at its 11 tables, open lunchtime and evening but closed on Sunday. Osteria Pappardelle on the other hand is more informal with long communal tables, open all day every day offering light meals, pastries, Musetti coffee and a selection of over 30 wines available by the glass; the kind of place to nip in for a 'quickie' or wander in and spend all afternoon. Of all cuisines in the world Italian food reflects the place it is made and the people who prepare it. Some of the dishes on the menu are based loosely on Italian 'standards' like Carbonara or Risotto, but made the way the team at Pappardelle likes it; others, like the Veneziana or Marinara are Pappardelle's own invention. All dishes (Lasagne and Bolognese apart) is cooked fresh to order from scratch (pasta & sauces), something Pappardelle considers to be vital to the quality of the finished product. It does mean, however, that a little patience may be necessary at busy times. Pappardelle has a commitment to serving the highest quality Italian food and wines and also fresh local produce in the simplest and most unfussy way possible to allow the subtleties and quality of that produce to come through. Together they aim to provide a place to spend your day or evening where you feel welcomed and relaxed.
