The first thing that you notice when you walk through the doors of this 100 year old, Tudor styled building is the gleaming copper vats, perched high on their pedestals. This is where the brewing is done — on site, in view, so that you can feel a part of this indigenous brewing experience. The fact that this was once the footprint of the ‘locally famed' Brickwood Brewery, and latterly colloquially known as ‘The Mucky Duck' it just seems right that it has returned to its roots and is once again producing some amazing brews. Recently refurbished, the whole place is gleaming yet still cosy and inviting. Choose your environment from sumptuous sofas for casual dining and drinking, large tables for great get-togethers to intimate tables for two and all you need to do is relax and let the friendly staff look after you. Brewhouse & Kitchen knows that their beers and wines taste great on their own, but they also understand that the taste and enjoyment is intensified if they are correctly matched with the right food. That is where Brewhouse & Kitchen offers a real difference. Imagine a succulent rib-eye steak, grilled to your liking, accompanied with a quintessential English Ale — the recipe of this ale complimenting the juices of the steak, or a line caught fresh, pan-fried sea bass with a glass of Pale Ale. There are dozens of beer styles from light and fruity to rich and malty on offer. Beer picks up the flavours of the ingredients it's brewed with and develops complexity during the brewing process. The results are layered, endlessly varied and suited to all types of food as an accompaniment and an essential ingredient. There is also a wide range of cask ales, draught beers, international bottled beers and fine wines on offer. Brewhouse & Kitchen is open 7 days a week for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
